Staff Engineer, Infrastructure

About the role

As a Staff Engineer on Infrastructure, you'll lead the technical direction of LTM's cloud platform — the foundation everything else is built on.

You'll work across teams, setting standards and solving the hardest reliability and scalability challenges we face.

What you'll do

• Define and drive the technical roadmap for LTM's cloud infrastructure
• Lead cross-team initiatives to improve reliability, security, and developer experience
• Design systems for zero-downtime deployments, autoscaling, and observability
• Partner with engineering managers to align infrastructure investments with product goals
• Mentor senior engineers and raise the technical bar across the org

What we're looking for

• 8+ years of engineering experience, with 3+ in infrastructure or platform roles
• Deep expertise in Kubernetes, Terraform, and major cloud providers (AWS/GCP/Azure)
• Strong background in SRE practices: SLOs, incident management, capacity planning
• Excellent written and verbal communication — you can explain complex systems clearly
• Experience leading technical projects across multiple teams

Nice to have

• Experience building internal developer platforms (IDPs)
• Background in FinOps or cloud cost optimization
• Contributions to CNCF or other open source infrastructure projects
